MCD In or Out for the Portfolio for an 18 month hold? Do we see 10% returns here?

McDonald’s US Sales Growth Likely from Higher Prices — Market Talk
DOW JONES & COMPANY, INC. – 11:02 AM ET
11:02 ET – While investors are cheering McDonald’s (MCD) global 3Q same-store sales beat, which was driven by markets such as Japan and Brazil, analysts cautioned that the US sales growth was likely boosted by higher prices, not increased visits. The chain’s 2-for-$5 menu “is more of a check (driver) than traffic driver,” RBC Capital Markets says, adding that traffic in the quarter was likely down. The chain, RBC says, needs more innovation, technology and quality upgrades in order to attract more guests. MCD also lowered its growth target for global net new restaurant openings for the year to 400, down from the 500 previously stated. (julie.jargon@wsj.com)
