Music Genius Crew- Eve of Construction
Is that De La Soul and Vinia Mojica on the track? Is that PM Dawn? Close but no cigar. Its that Music Genius Crew. Introducing The Music Genius Crew, a pleasant surprise from of all places Tulsa, Oklahoma. Their production comes courtesy of M. Will, who takes the groups light tempered subject matter and lays the perfect backdrop. There style is a knockoff of a Tribe Called Quest’s best work when they bring it as a unit on songs like “The Return”. Each member holds his own while not outshining the mood on the two tempo’ed “Winnie the Pooh”, a track with congo drums and a climbing organ that gives the song a West Coast swing and vibe to it. The crew go for the gusto and make the biggest statement of their jazzy influences on “Ain’t Common, Its Rare”. Peep myspace for a listen Music Genius Crew Myspace.com page

This crew is still finding ways to solidify their sound. Chances are they will solidify their spot in Tulsa with their laid back style that stands out in a city full of thugs and pimps. Hopefully they keep up the good work and stay working as a group.
